Lagundo is characterized by cypresses, vineyards and impressive mountains.
The idyllic village is situated 350 m above the level of the sea on the south side of the Nature Park Texel Group.
The impressive mountain ridge protects the village from winds and bad weather and grants Lagundo an excellent Mediterranean-like microclimate with numerous sunny days. The sun shines here on average 300 days per year!
No wonder that Mediterranean plants such as palms, cypresses, magnolias and olive tree thrive particulary well. Because of this lush vegetation Lagundo is know as the "garden village" in South Tyrol.
